BECOME A SAINT BY LIVING ORDINARY LIFE IN AN EXTRA-ORDINARY WAY

A two weeks oratory camp has begun in Don BoscoMakuyu today the 16.08.2011. This camp begins after one month intensive preparation of the animators under the sisterly care and leadership of Sr. Sarah FMA in collaboration with the Salesian Family of Makuyu.
The camp began one month after the demise of Lucy Wairimu from Ndera Local Church who now intercedes for us in heaven for the success of the camp. While honoring our dearest beloved, Lucy Wairimu, we, the Salesian family and the young people of Don BoscoMakuyu humble ourselves before the mystery of God in each created thing and above all in the mystery of our being human.
Lucy Wairimu was born in 1992 and lived a life of holiness until her last breath on 13.07.2011. She came in contact with the Salesian family through the oratory experience, from where she tasted the sweetness of Jesus as a true friend through the Salesian Spirituality passed on to her by the Salesian Family.
As the youth coordinator in Makuyu Parish 2007-2011, she was directly involved in the formation programs of the animators of the Oratory groups.  Through these formation programs, she personally shared life, talents and experience with the Salesian family and her fellow young people. We can testify that we admired her way of relating and working with people of every age. She was a very unique animator in the group and in her way of handling the groups of Oratory.  Her unfailing response to all the activities in the Parish level concerning the youth and the Oratory is to be admired. Her love for our Blessed Lady, the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist, her calmness, obedience, trust, availability and animation skills gives us a reason to believe that she was a saint sent to us by God. Her simplicity and sacrifice was a lesson not only to the lay animators but also to us consecrated people.  Her love for the oratory and the Church in general has left a strong message for us as a Salesian Family.
We, the Salesian Family of Don BoscoMakuyu owe a debt of gratitude to Lucy for her untiring service and dedication in her apostolate among the young people. We owe gratitude to her parents who gave her that opportunity and joy of self-giving to the Church through the animation of the Oratory.
May the good Lord who has loved Lucy so much continue to love her even more now that she is with Him in Heaven. Lucy, we loved you but the Lord has loved you much more. Continue to intercede for us from above especially during this oratory. You desired to animate it on Earth now animate it for us in Heaven.
