UPPER HILL STAFF BID FAREWEL TO FR. JOSEPH PULLIKAL

On the 8thAugust  2011, a memorable day for the staff at the Salesians of Don Bosco as we celebrated the moment with
Fr. Joseph Pullikal, former Provincial of Don Bosco Eastern Africa. We are grateful to God for the time we have had with the former Provincial. It has been a splendid encounter with a man so kind, loving, initiator of unity, extraordinary in his work, with a sharp memory and a model of humility and simplicity.
The Salesians of Don Bosco in Eastern Africa have experienced great developments during his term, not forgetting the fatherly Love for all in Eastern Africa; we are blessed indeed for an opportunity to be served by him.
God Bless you abundantly in your next Mission at Don Bosco Utume. Cheers!

PREPARATION COURSE FOR THE WOULD BE PRE-NOVICES
The two - month programme started immediately after the completion of aspirantate experience in various communities in Tanzania. All together eight Aspirants met in Dar es Salaam. The main aim was to work processing their passports.
The Programme for the preparation for Pre - Novitiate commenced on 9thJune, 2011 at Don Bosco Moshi, assisted by Utume brothers. (Onyiego, Fred & Benn) They had lessons. The schedule was quite simple and easy to follow. It made them feel at home and experience the Salesian community life. They were given time for personal prayer, meditation, Mass, Recollection and Bible sharing among others. All these enriched their lives and vocation.
Sports and work are stimulant factors for good health, physically and mentally; through these moments, they came to know one another; that is their strengths and weaknesses, the likes and dislikes.
They visited various places for apostolic mission. They experienced the situation in which the Salesians are working with the young people. This made them to have a deep evaluation on their vocational journey and life.
Generally, life experience should go hand in hand with ones ambitions and goals. Experiences always make people grow much on what they wish to be or become. Through ‘Come and See,’ they have experienced the love of Don Bosco to the young people and how he helped them morally and socially. Don Bosco calls them to join him for the salvation of the souls of the young people.

May the Lord bring into completion; the good work he has begun in the lives of these eight would be Pre- Novices.
