CHAPTER HIGHLIGHTS
The second day of the Provincial chapter of the Salesian province of Eastern Africa began with the morning prayers and a talk by Fr. Jacob Telekkadan on Don Rua titled, “Don Rua the Apostle.” The rest of the morning was dedicated to interventions on the Working Document. Many issues and points were brought to the attention of the assembly and were taken into consideration and were passed on to the respective commissions for inclusion into or exclusion from the Working Document. The whole afternoon was spent on group discussion on the interventions. The evening Mass was celebrated by Fr. Ferrington as it was his birthday. The Mass was celebrated for the departed salesians of AFE and in his homily Fr. Ferrington fondly remembered our dear departed and quoted their example to be imitated. After a solemn supper the students from Bosco Boys, the street children’s project, gave an electrifying cultural performance to entertain the Chapter members. Everyone was really moved to see the former street children and poor kids from the kuwinda slum perform to its perfection. The activities of the day officially came to an end by a goodnight talk given by Fr. George Kocholikal the founder of Philothea Missionary Society who explained to us about the society and its activities.
